Antarctic ice melting quicker from hidden channels
Global sea levels may increase faster than anticipated, as research indicates Antarctic ice shelves are melting more rapidly from beneath. Norwegian scientists found deep grooves underneath ice shelves can capture warm ocean flows. This concentrated warmth causes much higher melt rates in certain spots, potentially by a factor of ten.
