UK needs workplace heat limits, advisers say
Extreme heat could cause 10,000 more deaths yearly, making workplace temperature rules vital for public safety as heatwaves intensify. The Climate Change Committee, government advisers, recommend the UK set maximum working temperatures for both indoor and outdoor jobs. Additionally, they recommended that air conditioning be installed throughout all nursing homes and hospitals within a decade, and in educational institutions within the next 25 years.
