Russian President Vladimir Putin declared in an interview with India Today that Russia would seize Ukraine's Donbas region by military force unless Ukrainian troops withdraw, stating 'Either we liberate these territories by force of arms, or Ukrainian troops leave these territories.' This ultimatum follows Tuesday's talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow that yielded no breakthrough on Trump's peace proposals. Ukraine has firmly rejected territorial concessions, with President Zelensky maintaining that Russia should not be rewarded for its invasion.
