Iran accepts two-week ceasefire approved by supreme leader Khamenei
Iran has agreed to a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, three Iranian officials confirmed to the New York Times. The deal came after intensive Pakistani diplomacy and a late intervention from China, which urged Tehran to ease tensions and show willingness to negotiate. The officials said Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's new supreme leader, personally signed off on the agreement.
