A new AI system can screen for type 2 diabetes by analysing vocal patterns, offering a fresh way to identify the condition. Developed by thymia and RMIT University, the tool looks for specific voice changes like raspy speech and reduced respiratory control. This could allow diagnostic audio samples to be collected via mobile apps or phone calls, reaching more people than current blood test methods.
