Schools to teach healthy relationships. Teachers get training

Violence Against Women and Girls Minister Jess Phillips has revealed female teachers face increasing misogyny in schools alongside girl students. The government announced a £20 million strategy requiring all secondary schools to teach healthy relationships and provide specialist teacher training on consent and sexual violence. Research shows 70% of secondary teachers dealt with sexual violence or harassment between pupils. Anti-misogyny courses will target boys as young as 11 displaying concerning behaviour, with new helplines supporting teenagers worried about their relationships.
