BAT cuts 5,500 jobs, shifts 3,500 more for £600M savings
Thousands of workers will be affected as the company reduces staff and transfers some work outside the business. British American Tobacco said on Monday it will remove 5,500 jobs and transfer another 3,500 positions to third-party firms, while leaving its United States operations unchanged. Annual savings could reach £600 million by 2028.
