Mojtaba Khamenei survives strikes and is seen as likely successor
Two Iranian sources told Reuters on Wednesday that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, survived the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. One source said he was not in Tehran when his father was killed. Mojtaba, a mid-ranking cleric with close ties to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, has long been considered one of the top candidates to succeed his father as supreme leader.
