A Million Britons Who Never Smoked Have Picked Up a Vape

More than a million people in Britain who say they have never tried a cigarette are now vaping, up from about 940,000 a year earlier, according to Office for National Statistics data for 2025. Adults aged 25 to 34 now vape more than any other age group, overtaking 16 to 24-year-olds. Smoking keeps falling, down to 4.9 million people, while 5.4 million over-16s use e-cigarettes.
