Under-50s cancer surge: prostate cases up fourfold in two decades

Diagnoses of seven cancer types are rising sharply among people under 50 in England, according to new analysis by the World Cancer Research Fund. Prostate cancer cases in younger men have roughly quadrupled since 2001, while early bowel, kidney and uterine cancers more than doubled. Experts point to obesity, poor diet and inactivity, alongside better detection. Lung cancer in younger adults fell as smoking declined.
