Lloyds hires 300 people for AI work

Customers could get more tailored digital banking tools and stronger protection against scams as new systems are developed. Lloyds Banking Group said it aims to bring in specialists by September to help build and use autonomous AI tools, while not ruling out future staff reductions linked to wider use of the technology. Those recruits will join a 1,000-person AI unit that also includes existing employees retrained for these roles.
