Spurs sign Dutch World Cup defender Van Hecke

Tottenham Hotspur has signed Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for about £52 million to strengthen their defence. The 26-year-old Dutch international centre-back joins on a long-term contract and reunites with his former manager, Roberto De Zerbi. Spurs are rebuilding their squad after finishing 17th last season, just two points above relegation.
