Trans women removed from Scottish female prisons
Trans women are being moved out of Scotland's female prisons today after a court ruled the previous policy was unlawful. The Scottish government stated it would not challenge Lady Ross's decision, which mandated that prisoner separation be determined by biological sex. Following a Supreme Court ruling, obtained by For Women Scotland, it was determined that the word "woman" within equality laws denotes biological sex.
