UK's First China Spying Conviction Exposes Shadow Police Operation
Former Border Force officer Chi Leung "Peter" Wai, 38, has been convicted alongside Chung Biu "Bill" Yuen, 65, of assisting a foreign intelligence service as part of a Chinese "shadow policing operation" in the UK. Wai used Home Office immigration database access to track Hong Kong dissidents in Britain. Both were remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on 15 May.
