South Korean won hits weakest since 2009

South Korean won hits weakest since 2009

It's a 17-year low for the won, hurt by a strong dollar and foreign investors pulling out of Korean shares. The currency closed near 1,555 per dollar on Wednesday, its weakest level since the global financial crisis in March 2009. The slide comes despite record exports, with a weak yen and Middle East tensions adding to the pressure.
