Sweetener giant Tate & Lyle sold for £2.7bn

Tate & Lyle, the UK sweetener and ingredients maker, is being bought by an American rival in a huge £2.7 billion cash deal. US-based Ingredion Incorporated agreed on Monday to pay cash for the London-listed firm, which makes ingredients for food and drink. This agreement means shareholders will get 595p per share, plus an extra 20p in dividends.
