UK products to be deforestation-free by law
New government rules aim to protect rainforests and give shoppers confidence their products are ethical. From Tuesday 23 June, UK businesses selling items like coffee, cocoa, and palm oil must check their supply chains for illegal deforestation. This comes as 90% of global deforestation is from agriculture, and major supermarkets asked for stronger rules.
