UK pet owners hit by new EU passport rules

Taking your dog to Europe just got significantly more expensive for UK-based pet owners. From 22 April, EU pet passports are no longer valid for UK residents, forcing them to get an Animal Health Certificate costing over £100 from a UK vet for every single trip. The Animal and Plant Health Agency only issued formal guidance five days before the rules took effect.
