Anthropic CEO meets Pentagon chief to discuss military AI limits
Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei is scheduled to meet US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon to resolve disputes over military artificial intelligence usage. Negotiations recently stalled because the technology firm demands restrictions preventing its models from powering autonomous weapons or domestic surveillance. Conversely, defence officials are seeking unrestricted access for all lawful purposes. The company currently holds a substantial contract to provide customised AI systems for American national security networks.
