Israeli Police Storm Christmas Celebrations in Haifa, Arrest Man in Santa Costume
Israeli police raided Christmas festivities in Haifa's Wadi Nisnas neighbourhood on Sunday, forcibly dispersing Palestinian Christian celebrations and arresting three people including a man dressed as Santa Claus, a DJ and street vendor. The Mossawa Centre reports police used excessive force during arrests, with footage showing officers dragging the costumed man from the scene and interrupting traditional dabke dancing. All three detainees were released Monday but face court summons, while one required medical treatment for shoulder injuries sustained during arrest.
