Putin leaves China without gas pipeline deal

The absence of a new energy agreement highlights the limits within the "strategic co-operation" between Russia and China. Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Beijing, meeting Chinese leader Xi Jinping, but returned home without final details on a gas pipeline. Russia had sought progress on the stalled 'Power of Siberia 2' project, intended to transport natural gas from western Siberia.
