Labour's hunting ban plan criticised by rural group
The Countryside Alliance has accused the Labour government of alienating rural communities after announcing plans to ban trail hunting as part of its animal welfare strategy. Tim Bonner, the organization's chief executive, criticized the government's warped priorities, stating it has alienated rural people through policies including inheritance tax changes and the hunting ban. Polling released by the Countryside Alliance shows 65% of voters believe Labour unfairly overlooks rural communities. The government plans to consult on the ban in early 2026.
