Amazon Confirms 16,000 Job Cuts After Accidental Email Leak
Amazon has confirmed it will cut around 16,000 corporate jobs globally — its second major round of layoffs in three months — after a draft internal email about the cuts was accidentally sent to employees and then canceled. The company says the reductions are aimed at “strengthening the organisation” by cutting bureaucracy and streamlining operations. Affected U.S. staff will get 90 days to seek internal roles. The move follows an earlier 14,000-job reduction in October.
