86-year-old convicted over one letter car typo

An 86-year-old woman received a penalty and a £26 victim surcharge due to a small error on her car insurance. A fast-track court found her guilty because she mistakenly used an 'F' in place of an 'S' on her Suzuki Splash's number plate, an error that technically invalidated her insurance policy. The DVLA plans to contact her to review the paperwork and might reverse the outcome.
