Scotland votes on independence referendum request
Scottish residents could face another independence vote if Westminster agrees to transfer powers. First Minister John Swinney plans to have parliament officially petition the UK government for the authority to hold a referendum. Over 70 MSPs currently support independence, though Prime Minister Keir Starmer has indicated he does not foresee another referendum during his time in office.
