Blowers Makes Racing History with 300-1 Shock Victory at Exeter

Five-year-old Blowers created racing history on Thursday by winning at Exeter at 300-1 odds, becoming the joint longest-priced winner in British racing history alongside Irish winners. Trained by Nigel Hawke and ridden by James Best, who secured the mount when original jockey Ella Herbison missed her flight, Blowers edged out favorite On The Bayou in heavy conditions. The previous British record was Equinoctial's 250-1 victory at Kelso in 1990. Coral reported 82 bets on the homebred winner owned by Mr and Mrs Pudd.
