Councillor quits over 'sickening' deepfake abuse

A Staffordshire councillor is standing down after 12 years because of 'sickening' deepfake abuse online. Jill Salt, a district and town councillor, faced increasingly personal attacks over the past 18 months, including sexualised fake videos. One video used her face from an ice cream photo, while another showed her with a cartoon bikini body.
