British man shot dead in Ghana phone robbery

A 68-year-old British man, Ashraf Qarmar Parvez, was shot and killed during a robbery at a drinking spot in Tema, Ghana, on Friday November 7, 2025. The victim was sitting with friends when six suspects on motorbikes approached and attempted to steal his mobile phone. When Parvez tried to retrieve his phone, one gunman shot him before the gang fled. He died shortly after arrival at Tema General Hospital. Ghana Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and recovered forensic evidence.
