A string of major providers are raising broadband prices this month, adding close to £50 a year onto household bills. The hikes come on top of council tax, water and mobile phone increases all landing in the same week. Charities have warned the combined effect is threatening to stretch already struggling households to breaking point during what's been called 'awful April'.
