People can expect Italy to keep backing Western unity despite recent public disagreements with Washington. Giorgia Meloni said on Wednesday in Ankara she didn't regret building close ties with Donald Trump after attending a NATO summit with him. Trump later called her a nice person, while again criticising her over support for military action against Iran.
