London Assembly members find driverless taxis 'dull'
Members of the London Assembly have experienced a self-driving taxi firsthand as the Transport Committee examines the future role of autonomous vehicles in the capital. Committee chair Caroline Russell took a 15-minute journey in a vehicle developed by Wayve in Islington on Monday, describing the ride as “smooth and dull”. While she said the trip increased her confidence in the technology’s safety, she remains concerned about the potential effects on employment and traffic levels in London.
