Volkswagen weighs cutting up to 100,000 jobs
Volkswagen is reportedly looking to cut as many as 100,000 jobs, around a sixth of its global workforce, alongside closing four German factories, according to German business magazine Manager Magazin. The plan would double the carmaker’s earlier target and reflects mounting pressure from Chinese rivals, US tariffs and a steep fall in profit. Volkswagen declined to comment on confidential documents, while German unions said they would resist any cuts with all their might.
