Artemis II crew given iPhone 17 Pro Max for lunar photography
Each of the four astronauts on NASA's moon mission received a personal iPhone 17 Pro Max, the first time the agency has issued smartphones to a crew in space. The handsets have no internet or Bluetooth and can only shoot photos and video. Engineers conducted a four-phase safety assessment and designed Velcro mounts to secure the devices inside the Orion capsule during weightlessness.
