France plans 36 billion euro defence boost

Military spending will rise as security concerns grow across Europe. France plans to add €36 billion to defence funding by 2030 under an updated law that expands its nuclear forces and boosts missile and drone capabilities. The plan would lift spending to 2.5% of GDP, with an annual budget of €76.3 billion, nearly double its 2017 level.
