Cyprus says UK gave no warnings before RAF Akrotiri drone strike
Cyprus has expressed dissatisfaction with Britain after an Iranian-made Shahed drone struck the RAF Akrotiri runway on 2 March, causing minor damage and no casualties. Cyprus government spokesman Constantinos Letymbiotis said there was no timely warning given to residents living near the base and that the UK provided no clear clarification on how its bases would be used. Cyprus said it would lodge a formal diplomatic complaint and has not ruled out Chagos-style renegotiations over the status of the British bases on the island.
