Nearly 250,000 jobs at risk in UK
Thousands of people may lose their jobs, as Britain's economy is forecast to face its biggest challenge since the pandemic hit. The Item Club forecasts joblessness will hit 5.8% by mid-2027, which means the UK will see a significant reduction in employment. An additional 250,000 people are expected to become unemployed, partly because of the Iran war fallout.
