Universal Credit Goes Up but Disability Payments Cut
New claimants with health conditions will receive a sharply reduced extra disability payment, even as the main benefit rises. The standard allowance increased 6.2% to £424.90 a month for single people aged 25 and over, well above inflation. But the additional LCWRA element drops to £217.26 for most new claimants, down from £429.80, unless they meet a strict 'severe conditions' test.
