Bedford train crash update: at least 50 injured

At least 50 people were injured in the Bedford train collision earlier on Friday, a hospital has said, warning that fatalities are feared. Updated details from operator East Midlands Railway confirm the 4.40pm Corby to London St Pancras service ran into the back of the stalled 3.50pm Nottingham service at 5.12pm. Two hospitals have asked the public to stay away from A&E unless they have a genuine emergency.
