Neil Kinnock says Britain should rejoin EU
Families and public services could keep facing financial pressure unless Britain's ties with Europe change, Neil Kinnock argued. Speaking to The Independent in an interview published on 4 July 2026, the former Labour leader said the UK should seek European Union membership again and urged incoming prime minister Andy Burnham to rethink Labour's Brexit limits.
