Record £1.35m Fine for Porn Company After Failing to Verify Users’ Ages
UK communications regulator Ofcom has handed adult content provider 8579 LLC a record £1.35 million fine for failing to implement effective age verification measures on its websites, part of new Online Safety Act rules aimed at protecting children from harmful content. The fine also includes an additional £50,000 for failing to respond to information requests, and the firm faces daily penalties until it complies.
