£38bn nuclear plant costs could raise household bills
Households could see electricity bills increase by up to £19 due to the new Sizewell C nuclear plant. The National Audit Office, a government spending watchdog, warned the £38bn project's costs are uncertain and may outweigh benefits until at least 2064. Construction on the plant, expected to power six million UK homes, should finish by summer 2039.
