NHS failure leaves 83% of frail over-65s vulnerable to falls
Older people are at risk because GPs in England are too busy to help them avoid dangerous falls, which NHS bosses call an unacceptable failure. A public accounts committee report found that NHS England has overloaded family doctors, making it hard for them to meet care requirements. Last year, only 17% of frail over-65s got the required assessments for fall risk.
