UK Braces for 'Danger to Life' Weather Warning as Heavy Rain and Floods Hit Northwest This Weekend
Across the UK, the Met Office has put weather warnings in place for the weekend. An amber alert, in effect from 6am Sunday to 6pm Monday, indicates a danger to life in Cumbria due to potential flooding. Up to 200mm of rainfall is expected there over 48 hours. Yellow warnings are also in place for Scotland, Northern Ireland, northwest England, and western Wales. The Environment Agency anticipates significant flooding in Cumbria. The south of the UK should remain dry.
