US to spend $4B on UK airbases; nuclear storage questioned
People living near several military sites could see major construction as the United States increases spending on its bases in Britain. Washington plans more than $4 billion of upgrades across key facilities, including RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, RAF Fairford and Menwith Hill. RAF Lakenheath is set to receive $1.6 billion, with questions raised about possible nuclear weapon storage.
