Thames tunnel bill gets another £174m boost

The Lower Thames Crossing is getting an extra £174 million, raising worries about the project's growing cost to the public. Ministers have put this extra money from current budgets towards the planned £11 billion road tunnel between Kent and Essex. This huge infrastructure scheme is now due to finish in 2034, and will cost more per mile than HS2.
