Andy Burnham becomes Labour leader unopposed

Nominations have opened for the next Labour leader, but Andy Burnham is currently the only candidate running. If no other MP secures enough nominations by next Wednesday, Burnham will be declared leader on July 17 and become Prime Minister on July 20. The leadership contest means Labour members and affiliated trade unions may not get a vote.
