E-scooter crashes projected to injure 1,400+ people in Great Britain

Road users faced rising injuries from e-scooter crashes across Great Britain last year, despite an overall fall in road deaths. Department for Transport figures released on Thursday estimated 1,484 casualties in 2025, including 989 slight injuries and 10 deaths involving scooter riders. Private e-scooters still can’t be used legally in public spaces outside government-backed rental trials operating in parts of England.
