Convicted people smuggler found living in UK council flat for two years

Twana Jamal, aka "Godfather of traffickers," is alleged to have generated as much as £100,000 weekly from migrant smuggling activities, while residing in a council flat in Leicester funded by taxpayers. Jamal was sentenced to 5 year prison in France (2016) for helping smuggle migrants to the UK. Reports also claim he worked illegally 2 shops in Blaby while seeking asylum, despite rules stating that people jailed abroad for more than a year can be refused asylum in the UK.
