Lucky couple finds skip paintings, gets £16,000
A couple from Pembrokeshire were stunned after two paintings they rescued from a skip sold for a combined £16,000 at auction. They discovered the artworks while out walking their dog and displayed them in their home for years before looking into the artist behind them. The pieces, created by renowned British painter Louis Wain, famous for his cat illustrations, sold separately for £6,600 and £9,400.
