Seaplane makes rough landing in Manhattan's East River, rescuing 8 people

At least eight people were rescued on Wednesday after a seaplane made a "hard landing" in New York City's East River. Fire officials said the Kodiak 100 seaplane stayed upright and was towed to a dock near East 23rd Street. Two of the rescued people had minor injuries but refused medical attention after the incident.
